Follow Up of the Day: Angel Babcock, the 14-month-old toddler who was found in a field near her New Pekin, Indiana home after Friday’s devastating tornado outbreak, passed away today from the injuries she sustained during the storm.
She was the sole surviving member of her immediate family: Her parents Joe and Moriah, and siblings Jaydon, 2, and Kendall, 2 months, were all killed after their mobile home took a direct hit.
A neighbor had attempted to help the family move to a safer location, but was unsuccessful. He too was injured, but is listed in stable condition.
The twister carried baby Angel to a nearby corn field, where she was found. According to her grandfather, Jack Brough, she sustained serious head injuries, and was in critical condition.
Doctors today took her off life support, and she passed away shortly thereafter.
